Infinity Technology is an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and full service Information Technology (IT) company serving Northeast Wisconsin and beyond.
Infinity Technologys roots go back to 1995, when Dennis Challe launched a computer programming company that quickly took on an IT bent. Mr. Challe still runs the company as owner and president, though today the company provides a much wider array of services. Beyond residential Internet, Infinity offers in-house IT staffing, IT consulting, hosting and data management, website development, software development, and cloud services.
As a small IT company, Infinity focuses on gaining and keeping customers through outstanding customer service. They have even turned their approach into a slogan which reads: Real People, Simplifying Technology, demonstrating their focus on helping clients of all sizesachieve goals through the best computer solutions possible.
Infinity realizes that Internet is not a luxury but a necessity for companies, and promises to help because their business is the Internet. And indeed, Infinity features the websites they design on their Twitter feed and Facebook page, and are also involved with local communities. For instance, they offer free educational seminars on Internet and business topics.
While Infinity directs most of their website to business customers, the company does offer high-speed Internet access (and dial-up):
- Basic service offers download speeds up to 1.5 Megabits per second (Mbps) for $25.95/month.
- Mid-range service lets you download data at up to 3.0 Mbps for $29.95/month.
- Finally, the fastest service listed on their website brings download speeds of 6.0 Mbps for $34.95/month.
However, these speeds do not tell the full story, because Infinitys actual average speed is much faster than that. NetIndex is a third-party company who collects data from their website SpeedTest.net, and ranks local ISPs across the country and world. Infinity Technology was Wisconsins fourth-fastest ISP in 2012, providing users an average download speed of 18.84 Mbps. This much-faster speed means that business customers are purchasing true ultra-high-speed Internet that Infinity does not make available to residential customers.
Furthermore, the quoted prices only apply to customers with AT&T landline telephone service.
Nevertheless, Infinity's speed ranking on NetIndex shows them to be a reliable IT provider, but one that pays more attention to its business customers.
